Drewry’s composite World Container Index decreased by 10% to $4,014.10 per 40ft container this week (to 29-9-2022). Not sure how this will impact rates for New Zealand exporters and importers in the medium term, but it must be good news. These rate drops indicate more of a balance between supply and demand, improving not only cost, but also available capacity.
